these are some work i did as part of my final year project, they are ogham stones the last remnants of the Celtic language and ts alphabet. Named after the god Ogham who is credited with creating the alphabet and language. each letter in the alphabet represents a tree or other other things found in nature and even colors.
this is one version i have the other ones as well and i will add them later.

Andy the angle poise lamp was part of a competition i did towards the end of my third year as part of a competition set by anglepoise. The only pre requisite was that we used a certain type of anglepoise lamp. This competition was set to all student to create a story around the lamp as long as it did  not move. so here is the finished piece i sent in.

The story of Andy is that he is all alone stuck in the room and uses the bookcase to escape into a day dream each one encompassing a different subject mythology, science fiction, history, science and technology ( not in that particular order) before coming back to reality.

I should also add it came with a statement by anglepoise to make this official:

This is the paragraph agreed to be put with your images of the project on your blogs and websites.
Living Lamp was a professional brief set by British lighting maker Anglepoise® for final year BA Illustration students at the University of Portsmouth. Over 40 students were tasked with bringing an Anglepoise® lamp to life by exploring the narratives around their anthropomorphic qualities through a single concertina sketch book. Each concept was kept under wraps until the end of the campaign, when all the sketchbooks were presented simultaneously. 9 winners were selected by Anglepoise® Brand

Dogstar

this illustration was for a competition to design a book cover  for a series of urban fantasy novel by Jez Campbell, the competition winners would have their cover used for a special version of the book the runners up would be mentioned in the book.

to be honest i think this looks more like poster than a book cover but again experience, you learn from your mistakes.

UPSU TV logo

This is a logo i did for the Portsmouth university student union TV station it was an open competition for someone  to design them a new logo and the person who won the contest  their logo would be used for the student union TV station. i didn't win but i at least got to try and design a logo which i hadn't done before so i thought of it as a valuable experience, which i think is more important.

Trafalgar bar

Here is a series of image i was commissioned to do for a pub called Trafalgar bar, it was to be displayed on the anniversary of nelsons victory at Trafalgar .

my pieces are created using both Photoshop and illustrator , this was to stretch myself a bit as i'm not  that proficient with Photoshop as i am with illustrator, i thought this was a good chance to test myself.
